About Version History
What is Version History?
Version history is a transparent record of all changes made to an article after its initial publication. Each entry documents what was modified, when it was changed, and the reason for the update.
Why I Track Changes
In an era where information can be silently altered or revised without notice, I believe in maintaining complete transparency about my content evolution. This serves several important purposes:
- Intellectual Honesty: I don't change my stance retroactively to match current trends or opinions
- Accountability: Every modification is documented, ensuring I can't "pull something out of thin air" years later
- Historical Consistency: Readers can track the evolution of my ideas and understand the context of changes
- Trust Building: Transparency in my editorial process builds credibility with my audience
How Version History Works
Each article starts at version 1.0 upon initial publication. When changes are made, we increment the version number and document:
- Version Number: Sequential numbering (1.0, 1.1, 1.2, etc.)
- Date of Change: When the modification was made
- Status: Whether it's the original publication or an update
- Change Description: What specifically was modified and why
My Commitment to Historical Archive
This blog serves as "A Historical Archive about the Future Of Existence." I take this mission seriously by ensuring that my predictions, analyses, and perspectives are preserved in their original context, while still allowing for corrections and improvements when necessary.
By maintaining this level of documentation, I create a reliable record that future readers can trust, knowing they haven't retroactively changed my positions to appear more prescient than I actually was. These thoughts are my own, and I'm documenting them for historical purposes to show my commitment to specific ideas and beliefs.
Types of Changes I Document
- Corrections: Factual errors, typos, or broken links
- Clarifications: Additional context or examples to improve understanding
- Updates: New information that enhances the original content
- Revisions: Structural changes or significant content modifications
